Stafford Senior Housing and Health Care Community
Stafford, Virginia

Site work on Smith/Packett's new senior housing and health care community in Stafford, Virginia, is expected to begin in the summer of 2009.  Currently, Stafford County does not have a retirement community that provides a full continuum of care that includes independent living, assisted living and skilled nursing care on a single campus.  Because the County has only one nursing home, 123 Stafford County residents now reside in nursing homes outside the county making it an emotional and financial hardship on family and friends.  With Stafford County’s 75+ population increasing by 30% over the next five years, the demand for housing options and services for seniors will only grow.  On March 5, 2008, the Board of Supervisors for Stafford County approved 436 units allowing Smith/Packett to move forward with their plans to develop a full service retirement campus in one of the most desirable retirement areas of the Commonwealth.

Plans for the retirement community include independent living, assisted living and skilled nursing services on a pedestrian friendly, well landscaped campus. located on Berea Church Road east of Falls Run Creek. The location is just off of Route 17 on Berea Church Road, which is convienantly accessible for many residents in the region.
