Crossings at Bon Air
Richmond, Virginia "Southside"
Construction is expected to be completed in the next few months on the 124-unit independent living apartments, 52 assisted living units, and 18 memory care/assisted living suites on the Crossings of Bon Air campus in Richmond, Virginia. This phase of the Crossings at Bon Air community is scheduled to be complete in the first quarter of 2009. When finished, the facility will be a 246,396 square foot, four story building with an underground parking garage and will serve active, independent seniors as well as seniors needing assistance . The facility will feature a grand foyer, coffee/soda shop, theater/entertainment room, physical therapy space, common areas throughout the building and exterior courtyards. The Crossings will offer amenities such as 24-hour staffing and emergency call systems, transportation, housekeeping and maintenance service.
The Independent Living Facility (ILF) and the Assisted Living Facility (ALF) will have separate entrances, lobbies, marketing offices and common areas and share the central kitchen, laundry and administrative spaces. Each ALF unit will have a private full bathroom, “tea” kitchen with sink, under counter refrigerator, microwave and either a balcony or patio. The ILF units will each have a full kitchen.

Future plans for the 17.6 acre campus feature three 32 unit Ownership Independent Living (OIL) buildings along with a 15,000 square foot medical office building. Already on the campus is the Laurels at Bon Air, a 100 bed skilled nursing facility on the southside of the campus, which opened in December 2007.
This new retirement community adjoins the historic Bon Air neighborhood and the Brighton Greens subdivision, is easily accessible off the Powhite Parkway and Midlothian Turnpike, and is ideally located between the three Southside hospitals.
