Jackson County Health and Rehabilitation Center

Smith/Packett has started construction on its new health and rehabilitation center in Jackson County, which when finished, will provide a much needed community service by addressing the pent up demand in Jackson County for assisted living services. Currently, Jackson County does not have any new healthcare facilities providing care to the community that is newer than 15 years old. Jackson County also does not have any assisted living beds licensed for dementia care. Jackson County Health Center will have a total of 90 beds of which 40 of the beds will be designed specifically to serve residents who suffer from dementia.
Overlooking the mountains and the Jackson River, the site is adjacent to the town of Dillsboro while providing the views and scenic beauty that makes Jackson County and the Smokey Mountains a retirement and vacation destination.
The project is expected to open in October of 2009.
