Construction began in December 2008 on the Chesterfield Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, a 90 bed skilled nursing facility which, when completed, will offer skilled, rehabilitative and long term care nursing services at one of the most accessible and highly visible sites in the southern part of Chesterfield County, a suburb of Richmond, Virginia. The property is located on Iron Bridge Road near the Town of Chester, Virginiam and is across the street from a vibrant Wal-Mart Super Center and is a marquee site for both commuters and shoppers. Southside Regional Medical Center is approximately 11 miles away from the site.
The single-story building has a total licensed capacity of 90 beds and has a total of 43,788 square feet. Chesterfield Nursing and Rehabiliations Center will have a state-of-the-art physical therapy gym providing physical, occupational and speech therapy and offer a complement of private, shared private and semi-private accommodations. There will be ample common areas including living rooms, activity space and dining rooms are provided throughout the building. The grounds will be well landscaped and will include an interior courtyard. The project is projected to open in January 2010.
The property is master planned to include an addition to the nursing home for up to 30 additional beds. Additionally, property is being pursued in close proximity for a combination independent living and assisted living facility.
